Inktober Day 11, Cruel, Megatron by Cairistona
Fanfics
Into The Wildlands Part 1I do not own Transformers, they belong to Hasbro. (c) I do own my OCs. Enjoy! Oh, hello there, weary Traveler. You must be exhausted after such a hard journey. Here, have some energon and sit down. You must be a brave soul to come out into the wildlands all by yourself like this. Did you happen to pass by Kaon on your way here? It’s much safer to pass there now than it was several years ago. Oh, you don’t know? Well, sit down and lend an audio. I’ll tell you why it used to be so dangerous and how two femmes and their new allies made it safe again… Cybertron is a large planet, and it can take a long time to travel across it if you don’t have a fast transport. Still, some bots choose to take longer trips to enjoy the sights. That is what one family did, only it ended badly for them. You see, Kaon was once ruled by a bot named Megatron, and everything was corrupt. They had a terrible practice to get work done that Megatron and his followers (they were called Decepticons) didn’t want to do. They’d attack bots traveling in the lands surrounding Kaon for “trespassing” and demand a fine. The fine was always more than bots could pay at the time, so they forced the bots to do hard labor for little to no pay to work off the fine. The bots were basically enslaved. Some bots died there due to the mistreatment. Unfortunately, this happened to a merchant family from Iacon. Sparkshot and Starshine had been taking their daughters on a trip around Cybertron, to see how those in other cities lived. However, their transport was shot down and they were forced into hard labor. Dreamcatcher and Venus were especially horrified, knowing that what the Kaonians were doing was illegal. But they couldn’t just fight their way out. For one thing, their creators were pacifistic, only fighting in defense. And two, they were completely outnumbered. There was of course, the possibility of sneaking out, but a year had passed and they had yet to find a way to get all four of them out. One day, they ran out of time… “ARGH!” Sparkshot cried out as he was knocked down by a laughing Decepticon, nearly getting crushed by the heavy material he was carrying. “Weakling!” The Decepticon cackled. Venus snarled and got up from where she had been forced to sort some types of metal. She knew she’d at the very least probably get slapped for this, but she wasn’t going to stand by while her Sire got hurt. “You stop hurting my Sire, you big bully!” The Decepticon merely laughed at the violet flier femme. “Venus, always jumping in where she doesn’t belong.” Venus glared and was soon joined by her older sister, Dream. “It’s not right for you all to do this!” “Those with power may do as they please!” The Decepticon, a triple-changer, said with a smirk. “And power can easily be lost, you bungling blockhelm!” Venus threatened. Inside, she was scared of what the Decepticon would do to her or her family. She could feel over her sibling bond with Dream that she was too. But they both refused to be passive. The Decepitcon gave a creepy smirk at Venus’ threats. He had always found the violet flier’s attempts at frightening him entertaining. Not to mention she wasn’t a bad looking femme, though she seemed to have the optics of a caged, wild animal. Another Decepticon came over, a big mostly black one with a purple face. He was part of some gestalt team, and he bullied his team to no end. To Dreamcatcher, he seemed to be a manipulator on some level. “Will you two femmes just get back to work?” He held up a fist in a threatening manner. Dream glared at him. The rosy-colored femme said, “Well, if you all want work done, maybe stop bullying and messing with the workers. It would be more efficient than them having to start over all the time because you all butt in.” The Decepticon glared down at Dreamcatcher. No matter what he did, she wouldn’t be intimidated. That was both intriguing and infuriating. Even when she did go back to work, it wasn’t because she seemed scared. Dreamcatcher just glared back at him. She knew she’d caught his contradictory behavior. She had backed him into a corner with her words. Now, if only she could do so physically. Then, she might be able to help her family escape and alert other cities as to what was going on. Kaon was strong, but not strong enough to resist multiple other cities all at once, no matter what Megatron said. The Decepticon growled. “Just get back to work!” The sisters helped their sire up and got back to work. They hated this… they wanted to escape. Even so, Dream and Venus had quickly figured out they couldn’t get out with their creators without risking getting caught. They didn’t want to risk leaving their creators behind, so they were waiting for some chance to come along where they could all escape and get help. [I don’t like the way they’re looking at us, Big Sis.] Venus told Dreamcatcher over their sibling bond. [Don’t show them fear. They’ll use it to manipulate us. But I don’t like it either... ] [I think it’s different than usual this time. And it’s been a year since we’ve been stuck here, so they’ve looked at us a lot.] [Let’s go work with the other femmes over there. We can hide among them.] The two femmes managed to hide from them for the rest of the day, but when it was evening, they overheard a disturbing conversation while going back to where they were being housed. “You want the femmes from Iacon?” came Megatron’s voice, causing the two femmes to turn pale. They hid around a corner to listen in. The two Decepticons from before, Astrotrain and Motormaster, had creepy looks on their faces. Megatron had an evil sneer. The two femmes felt nauseous. “I want Venus,” said Astrontrain. “Dreamcatcher is mine,” said Motormaster. The sisters didn’t wait to hear more. Instead, they ran to find their creators. This couldn’t be happening! Sparkshot and Starshine were very concerned when they felt their daughters’ panic over their bonds. “What’s wrong?” Sparkshot asked their daughters. The pair of bondmates went pale at what the sisters said. “They can’t do that!” said Starshine. “They do whatever they want,” Venus muttered. “Then you two need to get out of here,” said Sparkshot. “Not without you both!” Dreamcatcher protested. “If you stay here, you’ll have to bond with Decepticons!” said Starshine. “No. You two need to get away tonight.” “But what about you two?” Venus asked. “The worst they’ll do is lock us up in a worse dungeon than the hole where they’ve been keeping us and the other workers. They wouldn’t kill us, since I’m sure questions have been raised as to where we are, and they’d be implicated right away if they did kill us,” said Sparkshot. “You two need to escape without us.” The sisters’ optics teared up. “We’ll come back with help,” said Dreamcatcher. “We promise.” Venus nodded firmly. That night, during the time the guards were changing shifts, the femmes managed to get through a window and climb down the walls, since they were housed within the city walls. The femmes had some energon given to them by the other workers… they’d given up their rations to help them escape so they could get help. Tearfully, the sisters disappeared into the night with their limited supply and belongings, swearing they’d find help and come back for everyone.~<3~ “Ugh… we’ve been going for weeks and we’re almost out of energon… remind me again why we couldn’t have taken a transport in the cities?” Venus groaned as they trudged along. “Because that’s exactly where they will look for us. We can’t risk it until we’re closer to Iacon… We’ve just got to keep heading north and we will get there eventually,” said Dreamcatcher. “We’re almost out of energon though, Big Sis.” “We’ll have to ration it more… I know we passed Vos, and then Praxus… It’s been weeks, so if I’m right, Polyhex is next, and then Iacon.” “Ugh…” Venus was starting to wonder if they would ever make it. Dreamcatcher was tired too, but she kept going full steam ahead. She was the big sister, she needed to be the one Venus could lean on. But it was getting hard trekking across no mech’s land. The Decepticons had locked their T-Cogs somehow, so they had to walk. Transforming would’ve used up more energon anyway… but they really needed to make it to Iacon. Suddenly, the older sister stopped. “... Something’s not right… My sensors indicate we’re not alone…” Venus looked around. “Where are they? I can’t see them.” “They’re getting closer…” Shapes started to emerge on the metallic rises in the valley. Large shapes… Bots. [Are they Decepticons?] Venus asked her sister. [I don’t think so, but run!] Dream cried. The femmes ran but there turned out to be many bots, who caught up to them, grabbing them. The femmes kicked, hit, bit, screamed, whatever they could to get away. Their attackers, of course, outnumbered them and weren’t keen on letting potential captives get away. They didn’t expect the femmes to fight back so hard, and struck them with fists and knives to subdue them. The femmes dodged most stabs, but were so focused on escape that it didn’t fully register that they were wounded. “CHARGE!” New voices filled the air and their attackers looked up to see more bots approaching on cyber-horses, letting out battle cries. The sisters were terrified. They were sure they were goners now. However, these newcomers went after their attackers, not them. Dream and Venus took the chance to break free of their attackers and they tried to flee amidst the melee. Dream bit the arm of her attacker and got an arm free to elbow him in the neck, causing him to let go. Venus used her heels to stamp so hard she drew energon from her attacker’s foot. Her attacker howled in pain. She elbowed him in the abdomen and then she and her older sister used the chaos around them as cover to flee. But they didn’t get too far from the battle before they finally registered their injuries. The sisters stumbled to the ground and started feeling dizzy from energon loss. Was this how it ended? They were miles from a medic, and didn’t have the supplies to fix themselves or replenish their energon. The femmes fell and reached for each other before they passed out…~<3~ “Ow…” Dream muttered. “Everything hurts…” “Ssh…” said Venus. “Five more minutes…” Dream tried to sit up before someone tried to get her to lay back down. “I don’t think you want to do that, Miss…” Hearing the new voice, Dreamcatcher opened her optics and shot up. “Where are we?! Who are you?!” Were they in some kind of… tent? “Please calm down, Miss!” said a red and white mech with a facemask and a blue visor. “You’re safe now! I’m not here to hurt you!” Venus groaned and sat up. “There goes any chance at rest…” She rubbed her optics, trying to get them to refocus. Dream got a good look at the red and white mech. He didn’t have weapons of any kind, and they weren’t strapped down. It took a minute, but then she realized he was a medic. “Who are you?” “I’m First Aid. I’m a medic. I was just trying to help you. But you both need more rest. If you jolt up like that, you’ll reopen your wounds.” The femmes looked down at themselves and saw the patchwork. Oh… he really had helped them. “Thank you…” they murmured. “What happened?” Venus asked. “You two were attacked by other nomads. But our bots drove them off and brought you here to camp.” That wasn’t usually how his people referred to themselves, but he knew city-dwellers called them that, so that would make the most sense to them. It had been pretty obvious the femmes were not from the wildlands. “Nomads?” The two sisters looked at each other. It was true that not all bots on Cybertron lived in cities. Some lived nomadic lifestyles in the wildlands. Bots in the cities usually knew very little about them, and it was hard to tell what was true and what was made up. That’s when the two noticed they were in a tent. The entrance flaps opened and two mechs walked in. They had mostly black-and-white paint jobs, but different frametypes. One looked Praxian, the other, Polyhexian. They had mesh sashes(?) draped across their bodies, and wore a material around their waists and draped around their legs. There were slits that let them move freely, but the material looked like it was made partially from mesh and partly from mecha-animal skin. “Looks like you’re finally awake!” said the Polyhexian one. He had a big grin on his face, but his optics were hidden behind a blue visor. Venus’ cheeks heated up when he flashed that grin her way. The Praxian one had a more serious air about him, but he had a polite, barely-there smile on. At least, Dreamcatcher thought he was smiling. She wasn’t sure. “Thank you, First Aid,” he said in a polite tone. Okay, so the medic’s name was First Aid. How fitting. “You both got to them just in time. If you didn’t find them, they would’ve eventually bled to death,” said the medic. He turned back to the femmes. “You’re both safe here.” Dream and Venus looked more closely at the black and white mechs, before suddenly recognizing them as part of the group that had fought off their attackers. “You saved us?” Dreamcatcher asked. “Thank you,” the sisters murmured. “Not at all, fair travelers,” said the more serious one. “Those bandits should not have attacked you, or come so close to our territory.” “Territory?” Venus asked. “Were we trespassing?” “No, you had not crossed the border yet.” “Oh, phew.” “What are your names?” The more jovial one asked. “I’m Dreamcatcher.” “I’m Venus. Dreamy’s my Big Sis.” “You two are the prettiest travelers we’ve seen in a long while~.” Both sisters blushed a bit. “Jazz, no. They’ve been through enough already.” “Aw, come on, Prowler. I was just giving them a compliment.” “My designation is Prowl, not ‘Prowler.’” “If I may ask, where exactly are we?” Dreamcatcher asked. “In the territory of the Calidumites,” said Prowl. “...” “I suppose that is not helpful.” “I’m sorry.” “They’re city-dwellers,” said First Aid. “Well, we’re not far from Polyhex. Less than a day’s travel.” “We were closer than I thought,” Dream murmured. “If you’re city dwellers, why didn’t ya use a transport, or at least transform?” Jazz asked. “It’s a long story…” said Venus. “We were running away… We need to get to Iacon…” “Venus, don’t--!” “Dreamy, we need help!” “But we’d be dragging them into it!” The three mechs looked at each other. “Did you two commit a crime?” Prowl asked. “No!” said Dream. “They enslaved us and our creators in Kaon!” said Venus. “Some Decepticons were trying to…” She shuddered to think about it. “K-Keep us for themselves… and they somehow locked our T-Cogs, so we can’t transform...” Dream instinctively hugged her sister close to comfort her. The three nomadic mechs all shared looks of horror. Dream looked up at them. “Our creators made us leave them behind… We have to get home to Iacon to get help. We need to let everyone know about what Kaon is doing, and rescue everyone trapped there!” Prowl stepped forward. “We can offer you protection here while you recover. At this point, neither of you are in any condition to go to Iacon by yourselves.” “But we can’t delay,” said Dream. “What if Megatron gets tired of waiting for us to get caught and he kills our creators?!” Tears began to fill her optics and those of Venus. Jazz gave the femmes a sympathetic smile. They couldn’t just leave these femmes to fend for themselves. “Well… we can take you to our Chief. If you both make your case to him, we might be able to help you both get home and get help.” The femmes wiped their optics. “Please,” said Venus. “Thank you,” said Dream. “Can they walk, First Aid?” Prowl asked the medic. “Maybe just to Rodimus’ tent, but not much more. We don’t want them to reopen their wounds.” Prowl and Jazz helped Dream and Venus up and they left the tent after thanking First Aid one more time. Dream and Venus looked at each other. They had to convince this Rodimus that they needed help or who knew what would happen to their creators and the many other bots trapped in Kaon. But they could definitely convince someone to help them… right? To Be Continued...
Who I Am In the MirrorI do not own Transformers, they belong to Hasbro. (c) I do own my OCs. Enjoy! “Ugh, that was a long day,” said Dreamcatcher as she walked into her quarters. It hadn’t been an unusual day so much as a taxing one. Reports, chores, trying to keep Venus and the twins out of trouble, trying to keep the Dinos entertained… there hadn’t even been a battle to make her this exhausted. “I just need some recharge,” she said, just about falling onto her berth. It did not take long at all for Dreamcatcher to fall into recharge after she pulled the mesh blanket over herself. Soon enough, everyone on the Ark who wasn’t on some sort of night shift or a night owl(as the humans said), was in recharge. The Autobots drifted off to the land of dreams. A land where they either escaped into a solitude of pleasure, or had to face their own tragic pasts again and again. At least, that’s how it went for most bots… “Not again…” Dreamcatcher murmured as she took in the sensation of her own dream. Yes, she knew she was dreaming. She was in a place that appeared to be in the midst of a fog and she couldn’t see more than a couple meters in front of her. The fog wasn’t the grey of Earth’s fog. It was a mix of lavender, soft pinks, and blues. She’d been here before. Most of the past several nights, she had found herself here, fully aware she was dreaming. Dream wondered if she had become what the humans called a “lucid dreamer,” since she was suddenly aware she was dreaming even though it felt real. She walked through the dreamscape, wondering what would happen when she eventually saw a glint ahead of her. When she got closer, she knelt down to see the shiny object that had caused the glint. “A hand mirror?” That’s what it looked like from some human media she had seen. The pink and aqua femme looked at the silver backside, before turning the mirror to face herself and standing up. “Huh?” The mirror wasn’t reflecting herself… at least, not her shocked expression. Instead, the face staring back at her was crying. Tears were rolling down her face, and her optics held a mix of deep sorrow and a glimmer of hope. Then, the reflection spoke with her voice! “I feel the suffering of others so acutely that I can’t always tell their suffering from my own. I can’t fix it either. It’s overwhelming! But… as much as I hate fighting, I can’t let the Decepticons go on hurting others as they have hurt me… and I need to keep my sister safe… I have to go on… I have to keep believing change will come someday, even if it comes when I am gone…” Dream was silent. ‘This mirror… this mirror knows what I don’t tell anyone else, except for Venus that is… and Primus in my prayers…’ she thought. How did it know? Then again, this was a dream, and dreams could bring out what was in the subconscious mind or deep within the spark. Maybe this mirror was some sort of representation of this? “Whoa!” Dream cried out as she stumbled over something. She had forgotten she was walking. “Oh no, I did it again…” This was the other strange thing that had been happening in her dreams. She had somehow been able to move from her own dreams into those of others. The images in the dreams of others did not seem to be able to touch her, but she had hidden whenever she saw who was dreaming. She didn’t want to take the chance that they noticed she wasn’t supposed to be there when she had no answer as to why this was happening. If seeing her would even cause them to become self-aware. She looked around, and it appeared as though she had wandered into one of the Towers before they were destroyed. She heard the sounds of bots talking and followed them to what seemed to be a ballroom. “I must be in one of the Towers,” she whispered to herself. Her Sire and Carrier were merchants before the war, and sometimes did business with nobles, but she herself had never been inside the Towers. She’d just seen the exteriors along the Iaconian skyline. Most of the faces of the bots in the room were blurred, something she’d seen in other dreams she had wandered into. “Background characters” didn’t seem to have much detail. Only “main characters” and the dreamer would have much detail. That’s when she finally noticed a bot she recognized standing near a balcony. Mirage. A spy in the Autobots’ Special Operations unit. He was born a noble, and was the sole survivor of the Towers when they fell to the knowledge of the Autobots. Mirage had had a difficult time connecting with the other Autobots in the beginning, due to both their own suspicion of nobles(most Autobots were “commoners”) and Mirage’s different upbringing which came off as snobbery. Glancing briefly at the mirror, Dream wove her way through the crowd of bots to a place where she could hide alone and see him more clearly. She hid between a pillar and a wall. She noticed Mirage was standing alone, gazing out the window with a faraway look in his optics. “Hmm…” Dream looked down at the mirror. The music was loud enough so that no one but her should hear the mirror… She turned the mirror so the Noble mech was reflected in it. The reflection’s expression went from faraway to one of worry and loneliness. “I miss home so much… I know we all do, however, I cannot shake my grief at the loss of what I had… I have not found something new like the others… I am not like the others… Most of them do not like me and I can tell. They scorn Nobles; not without reason… but I worry no one will ever fully trust me…” Dreamcatcher frowned. “Trapped by homesickness and loneliness… Mirage, I know you’re a loyal friend deep down… Mercury knows… Hound knows… Jazz and Bumblebee know… We just need to make you aware of it.” She saw him turning to where he might see her, so she disappeared into the crowd again. Seeking shelter from the noisy crowd, she went to a door and opened it, hoping it was an exit. The mists appeared again, letting her know she was leaving Mirage’s dream. Knowing she was stuck in the dreamscape until she woke up, she kept walking. Maybe she’d find a place more peaceful than the crowds of the Towers. She walked into the mist. ‘Why did this mirror only appear now?’ If dreams could show the subconscious mind, why would the mirror only appear now? Was this because she could suddenly walk through dreams? Perhaps. Eventually, the mist faded and she entered someone else’s dream. This time, it was a beautiful courtyard filled with beautiful crystals and a running fountain. ‘Where am I now? Or more correctly, whose dream am I in now?’ Dream wondered. She got her answer when she saw an artist’s easel and a golden mech behind it. For once, the often irritable mech looked quite peaceful. ‘Sunstreaker…’ The mech had a reputation for being grumpy, vain, and a brutal fighter at times. He also often got involved in his twin, Sideswipe’s pranks or “Jet Judo” escapades. Venus often joined in their mischievous adventures. While this annoyed Dreamcatcher, she didn’t think vanity, fighting, and mischief were all there was to Sunstreaker. “I wonder…” Maybe she could prove her own suspicions with the mirror now. She went behind some thick crystals behind the artist and aimed the mirror. It wasn’t a scowl she was met with. It was a sad face. A face with optics filled with loneliness. The reflection spoke, “I know I’m not the most popular Autobot… Bots call me vain, irritable, a troublemaker, a brute… but I really don’t have anyone else but my brother and a couple friends… Sides and I were all alone for much of our lives… I can’t lose Sides… Bots think I’m vain… I do look pretty good, but I also don’t wanna see my scars and be reminded of my past… I don’t like talking much, but I like painting… if bots were actually interested in my art, they’d see there’s more to me than polish and Jet Judo.” “Sunny…” Dreamcatcher whispered, using the nickname Venus often gave him. She didn’t think Sunstreaker was a vain brute, but she did admit to herself she was often stern with him and his brother, questioning if he and Sideswipe were a bad influence on Venus. It was true they disobeyed the rules often and pranked other bots, but they also protected many Autobots by being front-liners. They had one of the most dangerous positions on the battlefield, and they didn’t seek a way out. “Maybe I should see if I can talk to him about art tomorrow,” Dreamcatcher whispered. She hoped that if she used a gentler tone, he’d be willing to talk. When she noticed him moving to get up, Dreamcatcher ran out of sight. Again, she wasn’t sure how to explain being in Sunstreaker’s dream. The landscape soon faded to mist again. “I really hope I wake up soon… and I’ve got to find an answer as to why this keeps happening.” She had managed to save some old datapads from her Sire’s study before Iacon had to be evacuated. Was there something on them? However, she soon found herself in someone else’s dream for the third time that night. “Where am I now?” Wherever she was, it seemed isolated. It almost looked like a cavern of some sort, not unlike her secret place she would go to when she was overwhelmed, even if she had to sneak out at night. “I don’t think this is my dream… does someone know about my secret place?” she whispered. She walked along a path she found until she heard something. Murmuring? Maybe this would show her who’s dream she’d wandered into. Dreamcatcher walked along the path before hiding behind a rock formation. Of all the bots on the base, she didn’t expect to be in PROWL’S dream! You see, Dreamcatcher and Prowl did not have the friendliest history. Their ways of looking at the world and making choices seemed as different as they could possibly be. Prowl relied on logic and pros vs. cons analysis. Dreamcatcher was more emotionally driven and relied on her spark and how others would be affected. He was by the book to a fault at times; Dream could veer into bleeding spark territory. They used to have a great many arguments over things, some that even turned public. They never got physical, but eventually, Optimus spoke to Dream about Prowl, convincing her to give him another chance. Prowl also learned that Dream was not as naive as he thought, since she was so aware of the suffering of others. He had learned that her compassion kept her going, and they were on agreeable terms now. Dream moved behind rock formations until she got close enough to hear Prowl’s soft voice. Was he talking to himself? “Try to relax, Prowl,” said the SIC. “There’s nothing to do, and nowhere to be…” ‘Is he really having that much trouble relaxing even while asleep?’ Dream thought. Bots had claimed he didn’t know how to have fun, but Dream had learned that bots’ impressions of Prowl were often not that accurate. She positioned the mirror to reflect the black and white Praxian. The face in the mirror was not emotionless. It was… tired and worn out. The expression bordered on hopeless. “I know what other Autobots say about me,” said the reflection. “I’m a killjoy, a jerk, a sparkless drone. It is because I do not act the way they think I should. But I act the way I do because I want to keep everyone as safe as possible, and I want to stop the Decepticons. Logic is safer to me. It’s something I can understand. I don’t understand how the other Autobots expect me to act. I’m not like Jazz or any of them. I don’t understand the Decepticons either, and that frightens me. Whatever the Autobots think of me, they depend on me to do well. If something goes wrong, it’s on me. I know that all too well… but I am lonely… What the others say does hurt…” Dreamcatcher had to flee the scene before she started sobbing. Guilt racked her spark all over again. She too had misjudged him badly for being “cold.” She herself didn’t let everything to the surface, but she was more expressive than Prowl. Dream hated to hurt anyone this way, and while Prowl had forgiven her for what she said before, Dream had not forgiven herself. Prowl didn’t deserve what she or anyone else had said about him. She made it back to what felt like her own dreamscape. “I’m such a fool…” Even when she’d realized she had been wrong, she didn’t know Prowl was hurting that much… She felt the suffering around her so acutely that she couldn’t distinguish her suffering from that of others, or sometimes she couldn’t tell where it was coming from at all. Despite this, it was wrong to judge so quickly. While she hadn’t had the same original hostility towards Mirage and Sunstreaker, she hadn’t realized what was under the surface then either. “Is this why I found you?” She muttered, looking at the mirror, knowing she wouldn’t get an answer. “Either way, I know more now… so what do I do with this information?” Dream wasn’t sure anyone would believe her if she told them what had happened at night. She still wasn’t sure how or why it seemed she could enter the dreams of others. The rosy femme decided that was not what was the most important matter. She obviously couldn’t tell these bots how she knew what she did… But what she could do was give them the compassion others had not given them enough of. “Maybe I can bring some energon to Prowl in his office so he doesn’t lose his train of thought by needing to get up for fuel… and I’ll try talking to Mirage and Sunstreaker. I’ll see what happens and go from there.” Dream wondered if anyone other than Venus saw what she had seen in her own reflection in this mirror… She wasn’t sure. If they did, they were quite subtle about it. “Dreams are strange things… fantasy and truth are blurred…” She could feel herself waking up and the mirror faded from her hands. Would it appear again? Who knew… The End
